Dyooti Inc is hiring for the position of Senior Legal Counsel with 6+ years of experience to join their office in Chennai.
Role and Responsibilities
Legal & Compliance Leadership
- Build, lead, and maintain a focused, commercially aligned Legal & Compliance function tailored to the needs of the K2 Group and its subsidiaries.
- Develop and implement legal and risk mitigation strategies in collaboration with the Head of Region and Finance Director – APAC.
- Provide legal support and direction on commercial negotiations, particularly for high-value or strategic initiatives.
- Oversee compliance with internal legal policies, authorisation matrices, and global governance standards.
Operational Legal Management
- Ensure service excellence in delivering legal and compliance support across the business.
- Represent the K2 Group in employment tribunals and lower court claims where applicable.
- Lead the review and maintenance of contract templates to ensure alignment with global standards and legislative updates.
- Maintain a litigation register and liaise with external legal counsel as needed.
Risk Management & Corporate Governance
- Oversee legal risk management efforts and ensure alignment with group-wide objectives.
- Provide leadership in maintaining a robust contractual framework across functions including licensing, hiring, distribution, and third-party rights.
- Monitor HR-related compliance and regulatory updates across APAC jurisdictions.
Company Secretarial Duties
- Serve as Company Secretary for APAC operations, ensuring full compliance with relevant local laws and corporate governance requirements.
- Keep directors and senior management informed of their responsibilities and regulatory obligations.
- Maintain statutory records and act as signatory for legal documentation as needed.
- Ensure accurate and timely filing of statutory documents and resolutions.
Team & Stakeholder Management
- Lead and develop a team of legal professionals, including Legal Officers, Compliance Officers, and Contract Administration Associates.
- Promote a culture of continuous professional development and operational excellence.
- Operate within allocated budgets and resource constraints while delivering high-impact legal outcomes.
Eligibility
- LL.B. or LL.M., with qualification as a Solicitor or Barrister in India and/or another common law jurisdiction.
- 5–10 years of post-qualification experience in a similar capacity, preferably within the services or multinational industry.
- Proven expertise in employment law (with a focus on APAC jurisdictions), dispute resolution, and commercial negotiations.
- Deep understanding of corporate governance, contract law, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to guide cross-functional teams and engage with executive stakeholders.
- Exceptional negotiation, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage complex legal portfolios independently.
