Details of the Job/Internship

Emerald Clinical Trials is hiring a Senior Legal Counsel to support the Group General Counsel in providing strategic legal advice, managing corporate risk, and ensuring compliance across all group entities.

Role and Responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal advice across corporate, commercial, employment, health and safety, IP, privacy, and cybersecurity matters.
• Support the General Counsel in advising executives and managers on legal obligations.
• Deliver timely legal services including reviewing correspondence, third-party actions, subsidiary establishment, and governing documents.
• Advise the Privacy Committee on data protection, compliance, and cross-border transfers.
• Support negotiation, drafting, and settlement of major agreements to protect company interests.
• Monitor legislative changes and recommend or implement necessary actions.
• Conduct legal training for staff and promote awareness of legal obligations.
• Assist in managing corporate risk and identifying key legal risks.
• Manage intellectual property rights for Emerald Clinical Trials.

Eligibility

• Undergraduate degree in law with relevant post-graduate qualifications in a common law country.
• Current practicing certificate with 10+ years post-qualification experience, including at least 5 years in-house legal experience.
• Expertise in privacy law.
• Preferably experienced in CRO, pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences sectors.
• Native-level proficiency in English (verbal and written).
• Strong legal analysis, drafting, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across global teams.
• Strong time management, organizational, strategic, and analytical skills.

Salary/Stipend
