Enphase Energy is hiring for the position of Senior Legal Counsel with 8+ years of experience to join them in their Bengaluru office.
Role and Responsibilities
- Global Procurement and Vendor Management: Review, draft, and negotiate procurement and vendor agreements, addressing risk management and ensuring favorable terms, including those for HR, IT software, hardware, cloud computing, SaaS, logistics, consulting/advisory, and other professional services, on a global basis for the company.
- Legal Advice: Serve as the legal point of contact on business decisions, employment matters, and corporate entity management in India, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and internal policies. Monitor changes in laws and regulations and advise on same.
- Contract Management: Create and maintain template agreements, refine contract processes and forms in response to changing business needs. Develop training and policies for best practices. Ensure appropriate retention of agreements and reporting in compliance with procedures required for SOX compliance attestation.
- Dispute Resolution: Assist with dispute resolution and pre-litigation matters as required.
- Corporate Social Responsibility: Provide legal advice and support on Corporate Social Responsibility as required by Indian regulations.
- Relationship Building: Develop relationships with various business units and functional departments to understand their strategies and objectives. Work closely with finance, operations, and supply chain, and other cross-functional departments to ensure adherence to internal policies.
- Legal Team Collaboration: Coordinate and communicate frequently with US-based Legal Team members to ensure consistent legal advice across different geographies and business functions, including being available for meetings before and after normal working hours in Bangalore. Manage external legal counsel as required from time to time.
- Special Projects: Assist in other legal matters and special projects as requested.
Eligibility
- Education: Bachelor of Laws (LLB), Juris Doctorate (JD), or equivalent legal degree from a reputable law school.
- Experience: 8+ years of experience in commercial, technology, and/or transactional law, ideally combining law firm and in-house experience at a high-tech company.
- Language skills: Fluency in English is essential. Proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
- Communication & Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written skills, ability to engage with non-lawyers, and experience building strong cross-functional relationships.
- Legal & Business Expertise: Strong contract drafting, negotiation, and legal analysis skills, with deep knowledge of procurement, supply chain agreements, intellectual property, technology, and data privacy laws. Experience managing cross-border procurement and vendor relationships is a plus.
- Strategic & Ethical Judgment: Ability to balance legal risks with business goals in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high ethical standards.
- Leadership: Experience managing attorneys or legal teams is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office technology and Document software platforms such as DocuSign.
