Silk House Agencies is hiring for the position of Senior Legal Counsel with 10+ years of experience to join their office in Kolkata. 

Role and Responsibilities

• Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate a broad spectrum of contracts, including vendor, franchise, employment, lease, and partnership agreements.
• Legal Advisory: Provide strategic legal advice on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation.
• Intellectual Property: Oversee IP protection for trademarks, copyrights, and patents.
• Litigation & Dispute Resolution: Manage disputes, litigation, and arbitration in coordination with external counsel.
• Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of legal and regulatory changes impacting retail, e-commerce, and hospitality sectors.
• Cross-Functional Liaison: Partner with HR, Finance, Operations, and Marketing to ensure legal compliance across functions.
• Expansion Support: Conduct legal due diligence for new store openings, franchising, mergers, and acquisitions.

Eligibility

• LLB / LLM from a reputed law school.
• 10+ years of experience in senior legal advisory roles, ideally within retail, FMCG, or hospitality sectors.
• Strong knowledge of commercial contracts, employment law, and corporate governance.
• Proven track record in litigation, arbitration, and regulatory matters.
• Exceptional drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a cross-functional leadership team.
