Details of the Job/Internship
IQVIA India is looking for a candidate for the position of Senior Legal Counsel with 10 years of experience to work with them in their Bengaluru office in Hybrid Mode.
Role and Responsibilities
- Partner with HR teams and other stakeholders within India and across the region to provide support for all contentious and non-contentious employment law work.
- Proactively identify, address, and manage legal risk issues related to employment law.
- Keep up to date on employment law developments within India and across the region and provide thought leadership as to the impact on IQVIA.
- Providing expert advice and input in relation to global projects, policies, and other initiatives.
- Supporting the Ethics and Compliance Office in relation to employment related investigations and other compliance issues.
- Develop employment policies and processes at local and regional levels.
- Support workforce actions such as redundancies, bench aging, terminations, performance cases and similar issues.
- Support M&A teams from an employment perspective, including supporting M&A and HR teams with respect to workforce integration.
- Responsible for the engagement and use of outside counsel across the region, including managing to a budget.
- Conduct training and build knowhow as required for both HR and non-HR colleagues.
- Provides employment law support for mergers and/or acquisitions as appropriate. Manages others where requested.
Eligibility
- Indian qualified attorney with a minimum of ten (10) years of overall experience, with significant experience advising organizations on employment law issues across Asia Pacific. Significant employment law expertise in India required and multi-country expertise preferred.
- Deep experience advising in relation to the full range of employment issues, including trade union and other collective issues, on a cross-border basis.
- Experience in working in a complex, matrixed multinational organization – either directly or on a secondment basis.
- Demonstrable experience of driving change.
- Ability to operate and exercise judgement independently.
- Ability to influence and manage multiple internal and external stakeholders. Ability to deliver through others and with limited resources.
- Ability to engage on technical topics and communicate them in a clear and easy-to-understand manner.
- Experience in preparing executive briefings and presentations.
- Ability to translate global strategies locally.
- Comfortable with uncertainty, able to exercise judgement in a fast-moving environment.
- Fluent in English with a second language an advantage.
