Details of the Job/Internship

JSW Motors is hiring a Senior Legal Counsel with 8–10 years of experience to join their office in Mumbai.

Role and Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts for procurement of raw materials, parts, and indirect supplies.
• Provide legal support on contract lifecycle management and ensure adherence to laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Maintain accurate legal records and manage contract documentation systems.
• Ensure compliance with contractual rights and obligations while mitigating risks.
• Work closely with procurement, supply chain, manufacturing, and finance teams to deliver legal advice.
• Collaborate with external counsel for specialised matters.
• Monitor changes in laws affecting the manufacturing industry and update internal teams.
• Manage multiple projects with agility and problem-solving capability.
• Support dispute resolution processes arising from contractual issues.
• Provide legal support on employment laws and review non-factory related contracts to ensure compliance.

Eligibility

• 8–10 years of legal experience across law firms and in-house roles.
• Strong expertise in procurement contracts within the manufacturing sector.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder expectations.
• High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Strategic and pragmatic approach to legal risk management.
• Proficiency in contract management software and legal research tools is a plus.
• Degree in Law (LLB/LLM) with Bar Council membership or equivalent.
• Manufacturing industry experience preferred; exposure to procurement and supply chain operations is an advantage.
