Details of the Job/Internship
KLA is hiring for the position of Senior Legal Counsel with 8 years of experience to join their office in Chennai.
Role and Responsibilities
- Serve as a key legal advisor to business teams in India, aligning legal strategies with organizational goals.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial and technology agreements including:
- Real estate and construction contracts
- Purchase and sale agreements
- Licensing, development, and technology transfer agreements
- NDAs, Statements of Work, and government contracts
- Provide legal support on employment law matters, internal investigations, and workforce compliance.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate legal and regulatory risks in areas such as:
- Labor and employment
- Antitrust, FCPA, and trade compliance
- IP, privacy, corporate governance, and M&A integration
- Manage external counsel relationships for litigation and specialized matters.
- Support global initiatives, including implementation of contract management systems and training.
- Act as liaison with government agencies when required.
- Collaborate with the Legal and Compliance Organization to communicate key legal developments, risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Travel occasionally to KLA offices across international locations.
Eligibility
Education:
- LL.B. or equivalent degree with an excellent academic record.
- Admission to the Bar in India or a relevant foreign jurisdiction, in good standing.
Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years of legal experience, ideally in international law firms or multinational corporate legal departments.
- Experience in the semiconductor or related industries is preferred.
Technical Expertise:
- Strong grounding in commercial and contract law.
- Experience with FCPA, antitrust, trade/export control compliance.
- Knowledge of employment law, contingent workforce matters, and internal investigations.
Salary/Stipend
