Details of the Job/Internship

Treelife is hiring a Senior Legal Counsel – Contracts (Senior Associate) with 6–10 years of post-qualification experience to join its Legal department at BKC, Mumbai. The role is focused on building and managing contract lifecycles for clients, with exposure to GDPR implementation, global contracts across the US, UK, APAC, and MENA regions, and end-to-end contract lifecycle management. The position involves close interaction with founders, investors, and internal stakeholders.

Role and Responsibilities

• Independently drafting, reviewing, redlining, and negotiating mid-complexity contracts, including SAAS, MSA, SOW, amendments, and change orders.
• Providing strategic and pre-litigation advisory and engaging directly with founders and investors.
• Ensuring high-quality deliverables through rigorous process checks.
• Managing end-to-end contract lifecycle activities, including renewals, extensions, renegotiations, amendments, and terminations.
• Developing and implementing processes and controls for privacy and data protection compliance, including GDPR and COPPA.
• Managing multiple projects while improving client processes.
• Leading contract functions and working closely with founders.

Eligibility

• LLB from a reputed institute.
• Minimum 7 years of post-qualification experience, preferably with in-house corporate counsel exposure.
• Strong organisational skills and flexibility to meet critical deadlines.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision in a team environment.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills, both written and oral.
