Details of the Job/Internship
Zupee is hiring for the position of Senior Legal Counsel to join their Gurugram office.
Role and Responsibilities
- Litigation Strategy: Anticipating potential litigations against the company from a diverse set of constituents of the business including law enforcement agencies, tax authorities, competitors, vendors, employees, brand endorsers, and other contracting counterparties, and proactively formulating strategies for defense, obtaining external legal opinions wherever appropriate and preparing brief for opinions, formulating strategies for pre-litigation and active litigation stages on matters such as IP protection, enforcement of contracts, consumer disputes, competition law, etc.
- Litigation Management: Managing the roster of litigations about the company and working closely with various internal stakeholders and external counsels for timely actions to disputes, including drafting plaints, petitions, written statements, responses, legal notices, take-down notices, and working closely with external counsel for end-to-end lifecycle management of active litigations, including preparing briefing notes for external counsel, assisting in briefing senior counsel, etc.
- Law Enforcement Strategy and Management: Working closely with the company's existing LEA support network to mitigate potential LEA threat escalations, analyzing potential threats of commencement of investigations and other LEA actions, meeting with LEAs to represent the Company and convey the company's positions on various issues. Formulating and implementing various outreach initiatives with LEAs for the purposes of enhancing their awareness of the company's business, its bona fides and culture of compliance, and other bespoke issues associated with the business.
