Details of the Job/Internship

AppZen is hiring for the position of Senior Legal Executive with 4-6 years of experience to join their office in Pune.

Role and Responsibilities

• Review and negotiate customer and vendor contracts, including MSAs, DPAs, order forms, SOWs, marketing/event agreements, partner agreements, and other commercial contracts (SaaS and non-SaaS).
• Provide legal advice on contractual obligations, risk mitigation, and commercial terms.
• Participate in negotiation calls with customers and vendors, both independently and with the team.
• Manage data privacy compliance, including legal research, drafting privacy-related clauses, and monitoring global regulatory developments.
• Ensure thorough understanding and application of GDPR, DPDPA (India), and other international privacy laws.
• Review contracts, internal documents, and policies specific to India jurisdiction.
• Draft, update, and maintain standard templates, playbooks, and contracting guidelines to improve efficiency.

Eligibility

• Law graduate with 4–6 years of experience, including at least 3 years in the IT/software industry.
• Strong expertise in redlining and negotiating IT/software industry contracts, including NDAs, MSAs, vendor agreements, and DPAs.
• In-depth knowledge of data privacy laws (GDPR, DPDPA, and others), with hands-on experience in related documentation.
• Familiarity with SaaS contracts is a strong plus.
• Experience with legal technology tools and AI-powered legal platforms is an advantage.
• Additional knowledge of employment contracts and related India-specific legal matters is desirable.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and drafting skills.
• Mandatory five-day in-office presence (non-negotiable).
