Details of the Job/Internship

Unacademy is hiring a Senior Legal Executive with experience of 2+ years to join its Bengaluru office. The role involves supporting the organisation’s online and offline education businesses through commercial contracting, regulatory compliance, and legal operations support while working closely with business teams.

Role and Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts including vendor agreements, SaaS agreements, MSAs, franchise agreements, SOWs, subscription, and collaboration agreements.
• Support vendor onboarding, commercial negotiations, contract structuring, and risk mitigation.
• Identify and assess legal, regulatory, and operational risks in business partnerships and franchise models.
• Ensure compliance with employment and labour laws including Shops and Establishments laws, wage laws, and state-specific regulations across centres and offices.
• Assist with compliance under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 including privacy policies, consent mechanisms, and vendor data protection terms.
• Manage contract lifecycle through legal technology platforms including execution, stamping, repository management, and audit preparedness.

Eligibility

• LL.B / BA LL.B from a recognised university.
• 2+ years of relevant experience, preferably in-house.
• Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills.
• Understanding of labour laws and data protection compliance.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with business, operations, and leadership teams.
