Details of the Job/Internship

Vertoz is hiring a Senior Legal Executive with experience of 5 years to join their office in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.

Role and Responsibilities

Legal Advice and Counsel:

• Provide legal advice and strategic guidance to senior management and various departments on a range of legal issues, including corporate, commercial, labor, intellectual property, and regulatory matters.
• Assist in decision-making processes by evaluating the legal implications of business strategies and projects.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize various types of contracts, including but not limited to commercial contracts, master service agreements, NDAs, licensing agreements, partnership contracts, rent agreements, insertion orders, and shareholders’ agreements.
• Ensure all contracts comply with legal requirements, company policies, and regulatory standards.
• Manage, coordinate, and oversee ongoing litigation or dispute resolution processes, working closely with external counsel as needed.
• Provide legal representation in arbitration, mediation, and litigation proceedings.
• Monitor and ensure company compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and corporate governance standards.
• Stay updated on changes in legal regulations and advise on necessary compliance measures.
• Maintain and review internal policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance.
• Identify and assess legal risks and recommend strategies to mitigate potential legal issues.
• Advise the organization on potential legal risks in business operations, contracts, and new initiatives.
• Conduct legal research and draft reports, opinions, and memoranda on various legal matters.
• Stay informed about relevant laws, legal trends, and industry practices.
• Contract Management.

Dispute Resolution and Litigation:

• Advise management on possible outcomes and mitigation strategies related to disputes.
• Compliance and Regulatory Affairs.
• Risk Management.
• Legal Research and Documentation.

Eligibility

• LLB/LLM (Bachelor’s or Master’s in Law) from a recognized university.
• Any additional legal qualifications or certifications are a plus.
• 3–5 years of experience in a corporate legal department or law firm.
• Experience in handling complex commercial and corporate legal matters.
• Proven track record in drafting and negotiating contracts.
• Experience in managing disputes, litigation, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Strong knowledge of corporate law, contract law, intellectual property law, and dispute resolution.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to explain complex legal concepts in simple terms.
• Ability to manage multiple legal projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical standards.
• Proactive, with the ability to work under pressure and handle sensitive matters with discretion.
