Details of the Job/Internship
LexDeed is hiring a Senior Legal Manager – Property Due Diligence with experience of 6–10 years to join their office in Chennai. This is a high-ownership role responsible for leading legal verification operations and ensuring the quality and accuracy of due diligence reports delivered to clients.
Role and Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end legal review of property title documents including ownership chain verification, encumbrance checks, revenue records, litigation status, and regulatory compliance.
- Own the quality and sign-off of due diligence reports delivered to bank and NBFC clients.
- Manage and mentor junior advocates and legal executives.
- Act as the primary legal escalation point for client queries and complex cases.
- Review and interpret documents such as sale deeds, EC, patta, chitta, A-register, building approvals, and RERA filings.
- Identify title defects, legal risks, and encumbrances and recommend appropriate mitigations.
- Stay updated on Tamil Nadu property laws, registration rules, revenue department circulars, and relevant court precedents.
Eligibility
- LLB / LLM with 6–10 years of experience in property law, conveyancing, or legal due diligence.
- Strong knowledge of Tamil Nadu property laws including the Registration Act, Transfer of Property Act, Tamil Nadu Land Reforms Act, RERA, and SARFAESI.
- Prior experience with banks, NBFCs, HFCs, or legal due diligence firms is preferred.
- Fluency in Tamil (written and spoken).
- Detail-oriented with a structured and process-driven approach.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment.
