Details of the Job/Internship

Godrej Agrovet Limited (GAVL) is hiring for the position of Senior Legal Manager with 7-10 years of experience to join their office in Mumbai Metropolitan Region.

Role and Responsibilities

Litigation & Arbitration

• Manage and represent the company in legal proceedings across courts and tribunals (including High Courts, Supreme Court, NCLT, etc.)
• Draft, review, and analyze legal documents, plaints, responses, and case files.
• Liaise with external counsel and brief them effectively on legal strategies.
• Ensure timely resolution of disputes and compliance with notice periods and statutory timelines.
• Draft, review, and update commercial agreements, MOUs, SLAs, lease deeds, and vendor contracts.
• Participate in business negotiations to safeguard company interests.
• Maintain contract repositories and ensure alignment with current laws and business needs.

Real Estate & Property Law

• Conduct legal due diligence for property transactions, including lease, leave & license, and land acquisition.
• Review and validate revenue records (e.g., 7/12 extracts), title documents, and other property records.
• Ensure legal compliance in real estate deals and documentation.

Legal Advisory & Compliance

• Provide sound legal opinions on business operations, regulatory issues, and contract obligations.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure legal risk mitigation.
• Support business units in understanding and fulfilling legal obligations and potential risks.

Eligibility

Qualifications:

• LL.B. or LL.M. from a Tier 1 or Tier 2 law school in India.

Experience:

• 7–10 years of post-qualification experience in corporate law, litigation, banking & finance.
• Prior experience in a reputed law firm or large corporation preferred.

Key Skills:

• Strong command of contract law, civil procedure, real estate law, and corporate litigation.
• Excellent legal drafting, research, and argumentation abilities.
• High attention to detail, project management skills, and ability to multitask.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
• Proficient in using legal case management systems.
