Details of the Job/Internship

Mirchi is hiring a Legal Counsel with 5–8 years of experience to manage both non-litigation and litigation responsibilities in the media and entertainment sector.

Role and Responsibilities

• Non-Litigation:
• Negotiate, draft, and manage agreements related to licensing, acquisition, and distribution of content.
• Advise on employment contracts and company policies.
• Develop templates, processes, and approval parameters for contracts.
• Draft event management, sponsorship, and promotion agreements.
• Oversee due diligence for property acquisition and leasing.
• Draft and vet NDAs, artist agreements, and corporate guarantees.
• Protect intellectual property and advise on copyright issues.
• Engage with music, film, and entertainment industry associations.
• Litigation:
• Handle civil and criminal matters, including cheque dishonor cases.
• Draft pleadings, affidavits, infringement notices, and other court-related documents.
• Liaise with external counsels and coordinate litigation strategy.
• Prepare and manage litigation documentation.
• Represent the company before courts, tribunals, copyright boards, and regulators.
• Attend magistrate court hearings and provide evidence in cheque bounce matters.
• Participate in arbitration proceedings, including drafting pleadings.

Eligibility

• LL.B. with 5–8 years of legal experience.
• Strong knowledge of contract, commercial, and IPR laws.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, research, and communication skills.
• Experience in briefing external attorneys and coordinating with senior management.
• Prior exposure to media and entertainment law (preferred).
• Hands-on experience before Indian courts/tribunals.
• In-depth knowledge of copyright and trademark laws.
• Experience in recovery and cheque bounce litigation.

Salary/Stipend
