Unacademy Group is hiring a business-oriented Senior Manager – Legal to lead legal, contractual, and regulatory functions across multiple business verticals.
Role and Responsibilities
- Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize commercial agreements including vendor/service agreements, T&Cs, franchise, licensing & IP agreements, NDAs, MOUs, and other commercial contracts.
- Standardize contract templates and drive reduction in contract lifecycle timelines.
- Advise business teams on risk allocation, indemnities, and liability exposure.
- Ensure compliance with IT laws (including Intermediary Guidelines), data protection, consumer protection, labour and employment laws, and sector-specific regulations.
- Monitor regulatory developments and assess impact on business operations.
- Review branding, marketing, and promotional materials for advertising compliance.
- Provide legal risk assessment for new product launches and strategic initiatives.
- Partner with HR on employee-related matters and dispute management.
- Manage and maintain the trademark portfolio, including filings and renewals.
- Handle copyright and trademark infringement notices.
Eligibility
- BA LL.B. / LL.B. from a recognised university.
- 7–10 years of post-qualification experience.
- Prior in-house experience preferred.
- Strong exposure to commercial contracting and regulatory advisory.
