Details of the Job/Internship

Hammurabi & Solomon Partners is hiring a Senior Litigation Lawyer with 4-5 years of experience to join their office in Bengaluru. 

Role and Responsibilities

1. Case Management & Strategy

• Independently handle and oversee litigation across civil, commercial, criminal, corporate, and IP matters.
• Develop case strategies, draft pleadings, written statements, appeals, and legal briefs.
• Conduct in-depth legal research to support arguments and submissions.
• Ensure strict adherence to court timelines, procedural rules, and documentation protocols.

2. Court Appearances & Advocacy

• Represent clients before various courts, tribunals, regulatory bodies, and quasi-judicial forums.
• Handle oral arguments, cross-examinations, and interim or final hearings.
• Negotiate settlements and explore ADR mechanisms where suitable.

3. Client Advisory & Communication

• Provide legal opinions and risk assessments on ongoing and potential litigation.
• Maintain regular client communication and case updates.
• Draft and review settlement agreements, legal notices, and contracts where litigation is involved.

4. Team Leadership & Mentoring

• Guide and supervise junior associates and interns in drafting, research, and procedural tasks.
• Review legal documents prepared by junior team members.
• Lead internal knowledge-sharing sessions and training on litigation best practices.

5. Business Development & Firm Representation

• Contribute to client acquisition and retention by participating in networking and legal events.
• Support the firm’s branding through thought leadership, writing articles, and participating in legal forums.
• Represent the firm at professional associations, seminars, and industry events.

Eligibility

• Education: LL.B. from a recognized institution; LL.M. preferred.
• Experience: 4–5 years of focused litigation experience with a reputable law firm or chamber.
• Languages: Proficiency in English and Kannada (spoken and written); knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
• Legal Acumen: In-depth knowledge of procedural laws, civil and criminal litigation, IPR, ADR mechanisms, and general corporate disputes.
• Advocacy Skills: Strong courtroom presence with excellent legal drafting, argumentation, and negotiation capabilities.
• Leadership & Communication: Ability to manage client relationships and lead junior team members effectively.
• Tech Proficiency: Familiarity with legal research platforms such as Manupatra, SCC Online, and case management tools.

Salary/Stipend
