Details of the Job/Internship
Stanch.io is hiring a Senior Manager Labor Compliance to join them in Bengaluru office.
Role and Responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all applicable state and central labor laws, including but not limited to the Factories Act, Minimum Wages Act, Payment of Wages Act, Payment of Gratuity Act, Employees' Provident Fund Act, and ESI Act.
- Monitor changes in labor laws and update internal policies and processes accordingly.
Audit and Inspections:
- Manage labor law audits and inspections conducted by government authorities.
- Ensure timely submission of statutory returns and maintain required registers and documentation.
Advisory Support:
- Provide expert guidance on labor law compliance during employee onboarding, exits, payroll processing, and HR policy formulation.
- Act as a subject matter expert to the HR and legal teams on labor-related matters.
Vendor Compliance Management:
- Ensure third-party vendors and contractors comply with applicable labor laws.
- Conduct periodic compliance audits of vendors and contractors.
Training and Awareness:
- Conduct training sessions for HR, finance, and operational teams on labor law compliance.
- Develop educational materials and ensure organization-wide awareness of labor laws and regulations.
Risk Management:
- Identify potential compliance risks and implement strategies to mitigate them.
- Handle labor-related disputes and liaise with legal counsel as necessary.
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) or Human Resources; MBA in HR is preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in labor law compliance, including multi-state operations.
- Deep understanding of state-wise and central labor laws in India.
- Strong experience with statutory filings, inspections, and labor department liaison.
- Exceptional knowledge of payroll compliance, contract labor management, and dispute resolution.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
