Details of the Job/Internship
Larsen & Toubro is hiring a Senior Legal Counsel with experience of 7–8 years to support the legal function of a global semiconductor organization.
Role and Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end drafting, review, structuring, and negotiation of commercial contracts including NDAs, MSAs, collaboration agreements, joint ventures, licensing and technology agreements, supply chain contracts, customer and distributor agreements, lease deeds, and employment contracts.
- Ensure contracts align with business objectives while minimizing legal risks.
- Provide legal guidance during negotiations, escalations, and enforcement of contractual rights.
- Draft and vet legal notices and responses related to contractual breaches, disputes, and regulatory communications.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Sales, Procurement, Finance, Operations, and R&D teams.
- Conduct internal training on contracts, IP awareness, and compliance practices.
- Develop and maintain contract templates, negotiation playbooks, toolkits, and legal workflows.
- Advise on IP ownership, licensing, protection strategies, and coordinate patent filings with external counsel.
- Ensure compliance with global export control and trade regulations.
- Provide cross-border legal advisory support across jurisdictions including the US, Japan, India, and Germany.
- Support mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic alliances through legal due diligence and structuring.
- Coordinate with external law firms and assist in governance and risk mitigation initiatives.
- Conduct legal research and render legal opinions highlighting risks and mitigation measures.
- Independently handle matters and guide and train subordinates.
Eligibility
- LL.B. or equivalent legal qualification.
- LL.M. candidates are encouraged to apply.
- 7–8 years of post-qualification experience with a mix of law firm and in-house exposure.
- Strong negotiation, drafting, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in semiconductor, electronics, or high-technology sectors preferred.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced global environment.
