Details of the Job/Internship

Diageo India is hiring a Senior Manager – Litigation with a minimum of 8 years of post-qualification experience.

Role and Responsibilities

• Provide proactive legal business partnership and pragmatic advice to senior leadership.
• Act as a project manager for litigation matters, ensuring effective tracking and timely stakeholder updates.
• Develop and implement litigation and dispute resolution strategies, including settlement and continuation decisions.
• Assess merits of cases and identify appropriate dispute resolution alternatives.
• Manage and oversee all litigation matters with complete ownership and accountability.
• Coordinate with and manage external counsel, ensuring effective legal representation.
• Ensure adherence to international anti-bribery legislations, including US and UK laws.
• Support compliance, ethics, and governance standards across litigation matters.
• Travel at short notice to manage court cases, notices, and complaints.

Eligibility

• Minimum 8 years of post-qualification experience from a reputed law school or university in India.
• Qualified advocate admitted to practise law in India.
• Prior experience in litigation at a law firm or reputed corporate, preferably in FMCG or manufacturing.
• Strong drafting skills with experience appearing before the Supreme Court, High Courts, and Tribunals.
• Knowledge of Indian excise and tax legislation is an added advantage.
• Experience in managing legal budgets and external counsel spend.
• Strong stakeholder management and business partnering experience.
• Working knowledge of MS PowerPoint and Excel is preferred.
• High standards of professionalism, integrity, and commitment.
