Details of the Job/Internship
Shalina Healthcare is hiring a senior legal professional to support its global operations across Africa, China, India, and the UAE.
Role and Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice on commercial agreements and IP matters, including licensing, distribution, supply, collaborations, and amalgamations.
- Lead the complete contract lifecycle, including drafting, negotiation, execution, and compliance management.
- Manage trademark and IP matters such as filings, renewals, oppositions, infringement risks, and brand usage.
- Coordinate with external IP counsel across multiple jurisdictions.
- Support brand launches and marketing initiatives through IP clearance and risk assessment.
- Advise on cross-border transactions, joint ventures, mergers, and acquisitions.
- Conduct legal research on pharmaceutical regulations, IP laws, and compliance requirements.
- Perform legal and business due diligence for mergers and acquisitions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, marketing, regulatory, procurement, and compliance.
- Identify and mitigate litigation, IP disputes, and infringement risks.
- Handle legal disputes and litigation with support from external counsel when required.
- Monitor legal, regulatory, and industry developments and advise senior management proactively.
Eligibility
- Company Secretary qualification with a Bachelor’s degree in Law from an accredited institution.
- Active membership with the relevant State Bar Association.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in contract management, IP, commercial transactions, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience preferably within Pharmaceutical, FMCG, FMCD, or CPG sectors.
- Strong expertise in commercial, corporate, and IP laws.
- Experience managing trademark portfolios and IP risks.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate cross-functionally.
- Experience in litigation, IP infringement, and regulatory investigations is preferred.
Salary/Stipend
