Details of the Job/Internship
Cognizant is hiring a Senior Privacy Counsel to support and maintain its global privacy compliance program. This is a leadership role involving oversight of privacy governance, monitoring regulatory developments, managing global privacy policies and processes, supporting innovation, and providing strategic guidance on privacy risks while embodying the Cognizant Way to Lead.
Role and Responsibilities
- Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of the global privacy program.
- Oversee the privacy governance framework, including roles, responsibilities, risk management, and reporting.
- Monitor and manage new privacy, data protection, and cybersecurity developments.
- Maintain privacy training and awareness programs and coordinate new training materials.
- Manage global, regional, and sectoral privacy policies and notices, including periodic reviews and updates.
- Maintain global compliance processes, including records of processing, privacy impact assessments, and transfer impact assessments.
- Analyse privacy implications of new products and services and provide guidance to minimise compliance risks.
- Conduct privacy impact assessments and privacy risk assessments, including transfer risk assessments.
Eligibility
- Deep experience in global privacy regulations, including GDPR and other emerging privacy laws.
- Proven ability to manage complex privacy matters across multiple jurisdictions and cultures.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all organisational levels.
- Commercial mindset with the ability to manage changing priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Strong project management and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle multiple deadlines.
- Experience working in virtual and international environments with diverse cultures.
- Experience with privacy compliance technologies.
- Ability to make sound judgement calls using a pragmatic and risk-based approach.
- Law degree or equivalent qualification.
- Demonstrated embodiment of the Cognizant Way to Lead and Cognizant’s core values.
Salary/Stipend
