The Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy (“Vidhi”) is an independent think tank doing legal research to make better laws and improve governance for the public good. Vidhi is committed to producing legal research of the highest standard with the aim of informing public debate and contributing to improved governance. Vidhi works with Ministries of the Government of India and State Governments, as well as other public institutions, providing research and drafting support at various stages of law-making. Vidhi also conducts and freely disseminates independent research in areas of legal reform which it believes is critical to India’s future.

Details of the Job/Internship

The Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy (“Vidhi”) is inviting applications for the position of Senior Resident Fellow with 4 years of experience to join them at their office in New Delhi.

Role and Responsibilities

• The Senior Resident Fellow will work as an integral part of the Corporate Law and Financial Regulation Team at Vidhi and will be required to lead projects independently.
• They will be expected to undertake high-quality research, analysis, legislative drafting, lead external meetings, make presentations, undertake stakeholder consultations for engaged as well as original and independent projects.

Eligibility

Essential:

• Undergraduate degree in law.
• At least 4 years of demonstrable work experience in the areas including Corporate Laws, Securities Laws, Insolvency Laws or Insurance Laws (An LLM will be considered as one year of work experience).
• Ability to handle matters independently.
• Excellent presentation skills, and ability to communicate with multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent legal research and writing skills.

Desirable:

• Postgraduate degree in Corporate and Commercial Laws.

Salary/Stipend

Compensation details will be finalized during the interview process with the selected candidate.
