Details of the Organization

The Faculty of Law, Aligarh Muslim University is the law school of Aligarh Muslim University which has a history of over 100 years of teaching and writing law.  The teaching of Law in Aligarh Muslim University was introduced in the year 1883.

Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, the Founder was greatly impressed by the Programme of Legal Education in British Universities. So, he was very keen to have legal education on that pattern at Aligarh Muslim University. Our Faculty of Law has produced innumerable legal icons who have rendered their services to many reputed Law Faculties in India. Their services have been acknowledged both at the Bench and the Bar. 

Details of the Moot Court Competition

Sir Syed National Moot Court Competition-2024 is being organized from 22th February to 1nd March at the Faculty of Law, Aligarh Muslim University.

Eligibility

Students pursuing a 3-year or 5-year LLB Degree from any recognized institute.

Venue

Semi-Final and Final Round (based on Memorial Evaluation): Faculty of Law, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, 202002.

Submission Guidelines

• Compendium or any other references are optional and must be submitted to the Organizers through mail at the time as that of submission of the memorial.
• Only one Compendium is to be submitted from each side, for easy accessibility for the judges.
• The Compendium must be submitted in both PDF and Word format.
• The organizers shall have the rights reserved over all the submitted memorials and compendium and the organizers are free to use or dispose them off in the manner they deem fit.

Awards

• Winning Team: Merit Certificate, Trophy & a Cash Prize of Rs. 18000/-
• Runner-up team: Merit Certificate, Trophy & a Cash Prize of Rs. 12000/-
• Best Speaker: Merit Certificate, Trophy, & a Cash Prize of Rs. 5000/-
• Best Memorial: Merit Certificate, Trophy & a Cash Prize of Rs. 5000/-
• Best Researcher: Merit Certificate, Trophy & a Cash Prize of Rs. 5000/-
• Trophies and certificates and will be awarded to various winners of the
  competition.
• All participants will be issued participation certificates, and will receive them through their registered email id.

Study IQ:

• Upto 100% Scholarship in Judiciary Foundation Batch to the Winner team.
• Upto 75% Scholarship in Judiciary Foundation Batch to the Runner Up team.
• Upto 50% Scholarship in Judiciary Foundation Batch to the Best Memorial winners.
• Upto 50% Scholarship in Judiciary Foundation Batch to the Best Speaker .
• Upto 50% Scholarship in Judiciary Foundation Batch to the Best Researcher.

Teams will have to register online through google form provided below. Registering teams have to pay the registration fee Rs. 2000/- .

Dates to Remember

• Brochure release: 8th February.
• The last date for seeking clarifications: 17th February. 
• Last date of submission of memorials: 20th February.
• Selection of top 4 teams based on memorial evaluation: 24th February.
• Orientation of the top 4 teams: 1st March.
• Semi-finals and Finals: 1st March.
