Details of the Job/Internship

Bajaj Electricals Ltd. is hiring a Specialist – IPR with 6–9 years of experience in intellectual property strategy, patents, trademarks, copyrights, and design portfolio management for its Mumbai office. 

Role and Responsibilities

• Strategize IP protection for the “Bajaj” brand, suffix brands, copyrights, and product innovations.
• Work with R&D leadership to ensure IP support in product and design development cycles.
• Mitigate risks by building checkpoints to avoid third-party IP breaches.
• Patents Management: Advise on patentability, FTO, drafting, filing, responses to examination reports, hearings, and white-space analysis.
• Trademarks & Copyrights: Conduct TM availability searches, registrations, oppositions, watch services, and portfolio management (domestic & international).
• Designs: Conduct novelty/FTO searches, file and prosecute design applications, ensure renewals, and manage design portfolio.
• Manage comprehensive IPR portfolios (patents, TMs, designs, copyrights), including MIS, life cycle management, and archival.
• Conduct IPR awareness training for business teams.
• Lead anti-counterfeiting actions: act on leads, conduct raids with agencies, and prepare internal reports.

Eligibility

• Registered Patent Agent with the Indian Patent Office.
• 6–9 years of experience in patent drafting and prosecution (law firm or in-house).
• Strong knowledge of IP searches using databases such as Thomson Innovation, Questel, etc.
• Law graduate (LL.B.) with experience in TM searches, prosecution, oppositions, and international/domestic TM portfolio management.
• Experience in designs including novelty searches, filing, prosecution, and allied matters.
• Registered Trademark Attorney preferred.
