Spice Route Legal is hiring for the position of Stenographer to join their office in Mumbai.
Role and Responsibilities
- Take and transcribe dictations from partners, senior advocates, and associates.
- Convert handwritten notes, direct dictations, and audio files into well-formatted Word documents.
- Ensure accuracy in grammar, formatting, and legal terminology across all documentation.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of case materials and legal documents.
- Assist in preparing case files, organizing e-binders, and managing electronic court filings.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate court filings.
- Track and maintain both digital and physical files related to ongoing litigation and arbitration matters.
- Manage scheduling for court hearings, client meetings, and litigation deadlines.
Eligibility
- Graduate in any discipline.
- Proficiency in shorthand (minimum 100 WPM preferred) and typing (minimum 60 WPM preferred).
- Familiarity with legal vocabulary and litigation procedures.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
- High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
- Excellent command over written and spoken English.
- Prior experience in a legal support or stenographer role within a law firm is preferred.
