Details of the Job/Internship

White & Brief - Advocates and Solicitors is hiring a Tax Lawyer with a minimum of 2 years of experience to join their office in Mumbai.

Role and Responsibilities

• Research on Indirect Tax/GST databases.
• Understand and apply relevant case laws and legal frameworks.
• Draft legal documents with clarity and precision.
• Share updates on the latest legal trends with the team.
• Conduct research to understand applicable laws and acts.

Eligibility

• Minimum 2 years of experience.
• Expertise in handling engagements related to Indirect Tax Laws including tax restructuring, tax advisory and consulting, appeals/writ petitions pertaining to Service Tax, VAT, Excise, Foreign Trade Policy, Customs Law and GST.
• Skilled in providing litigation-related services such as drafting of opinions, replies to show cause notices, appeals, writ petitions, SLP, briefing counsels and senior counsels.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to research on Indirect Tax/GST databases.
• Knowledge of case laws with relevant legal framework, a good understanding of regulatory updates and a basic understanding of its impact on the assigned clients.
• Good command over English and drafting skills.
• Ability to conduct quick research to develop a theoretical understanding of the laws and acts.
• Demonstrates the ability to stay updated on the latest legal industry trends.
• Prioritizes meeting client expectations by balancing quality and timeliness.
• Shows ownership and accountability for team goals by consistently meeting assigned tasks standards.
• Adheres to established work processes and procedures to deliver effective outcomes.
• Efficiently plans work, identifying necessary resources and timelines.
