Details of the Job/Internship
White & Brief – Advocates and Solicitors is hiring a Tax Lawyer with a minimum of 2 years of experience for their Mumbai office. The role requires strong analytical and drafting skills, and the ability to research Indirect Tax and GST-related matters.
Role and Responsibilities
- Handle engagements related to Indirect Tax Laws, including tax restructuring, tax advisory, consulting, and appeals/writ petitions related to Service Tax, VAT, Excise, Foreign Trade Policy, Customs Law and GST.
- Provide litigation-related services such as drafting opinions, replies to show cause notices, appeals, writ petitions and SLPs, and briefing counsels and senior counsels.
- Stay updated on the latest legal industry trends.
- Balance quality and timeliness to meet client expectations.
- Demonstrate ownership and accountability in achieving team goals.
- Adhere to established work processes and procedures.
- Plan work efficiently by identifying necessary resources and timelines.
Eligibility
- Minimum 2 years of experience.
- Strong analytical abilities and proficiency in researching Indirect Tax/GST databases.
- Good command of English with strong drafting skills.
- Understanding of relevant case laws, regulatory updates and their impact on clients.
- Ability to conduct quick research to develop a theoretical understanding of applicable laws and acts.
