Details of the Job/Internship
Neeraj Bhagat & Co. is hiring a Direct & Indirect Tax Litigation Counsel with 2–6 years of experience to manage income tax litigation, GST compliance, and related advisory matters.
Role and Responsibilities
- Represent the organisation in direct tax matters before the Assessing Officer, CIT(A), ITAT, and appellate authorities.
- Coordinate and brief external counsel for matters before High Courts and Supreme Court.
- Draft and file appeals, submissions, petitions, and replies under the Income Tax Act.
- Handle litigation related to search & seizure, reassessment, and TDS defaults.
- Manage scrutiny, assessment, and reassessment proceedings.
- Liaise with internal teams for documentation and audits.
- Provide strategic advice on tax disputes and their financial impact.
- Monitor legal developments and case laws affecting tax positions.
- Maintain database and prepare trackers, reports, and case summaries.
Eligibility
- LLB / CA Dropout or equivalent professional qualification.
- 2–6 years of experience in direct tax litigation and advisory.
- Strong knowledge of the Income Tax Act, CBDT circulars, judicial precedents, and compliance requirements.
