The Indian Maritime sector has been consistently exhibiting strong growth and is slated to be the maritime market of the future. The establishment of Gujarat Maritime University (GMU) is an endeavour by the Government of Gujarat through the Gujarat Maritime Board to provide a fillip to this growth by bridging the knowledge gap within the industry.

Details of the Job/Internship

Gujarat Maritime University (GMU) is looking for candidates for the position of Teaching & Research Associate period of 1 year initially in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.

Role and Responsibilities

• Conduct interdisciplinary research in areas of law in collaboration with teaching and research staff including honorary members and students; 
• Provide research assistance to teaching and research staff as and when required; 
• Develop, plan, execute, monitor and report interdisciplinary research in collaboration with external universities, institutions, government departments, industrial and economic agencies, judiciary within India and abroad; 
• Provide inputs to general teaching faculty on latest research developments and emerging research trends in respective fields; 
• Participate in overall planning and development of academic, research, training and extension programs and activities of the University; 
• Conduct research based training and extension activities in the area of law; 
• Perform any other duties including administrative, coordination, etc. as required to achieve the aims and objectives of the University. 

Eligibility

• Master’s degree in Law with atleast 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point 
• scale wherever grading system is followed) from an Indian University; or an equivalent 
• degree from an accredited foreign University. 
• Good knowledge of latest national and international research trends and developments in relevant area; 
• Ability to conceptualize and organize international training workshops and 
• brainstorming online/on-site discussions apart from Teaching/Research; 
• Fluency in English language. 
• Master’s degree in Maritime Law/International Trade Law.
• Experience in teaching/research in premier law universities/colleges in relevant area; 
• National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET; 
• Excellent inter-personal and team-building skills; 
• Ability to innovate and to improve academic programmes or services and to pursue interesting new ideas and new methods. 
• Academic background of Research will be preferred. 

Salary/Stipend

₹45,000/month (Fixed)
