Details of the Job/Internship
The KPMG Global Services’ Legal OGC team is hiring and they are looking to hire an in-house cousel with experience in Contract drafting, negotiations and redlining along with exposure to trademark filings/renewals and matters involving domain name misuse.

Role and Responsibilities
They are recruiting an Indian lawyer who can be an effective member of the KGS OGC that complements the activities of the International Office of the General Counsel (IOGC) of KPMG International (KPMGI).
KPMGI is the entity with which all member firms of the KPMG Global Organization are affiliated. KPMGI carries on business activities for the overall benefit of the KPMG Global Organizations. It does not provide professional services to clients. One of the main purposes of KPMGI is to facilitate the provision by member firms of quality Audit, Tax and Advisory services to their clients, including through the use of technology. The IOGC is a growing and high-performing in-house legal team with personnel based in six countries.
The team provides legal advice on a wide variety of key strategic matters and legal, regulatory and reputational issues and risks, and supports the execution of key business decisions made by KPMGI and the KPMG Global Organization. The role will involve working, under the ultimate supervision of other experienced lawyers in the team, on the management, drafting, reviewing and negotiating of agreements for the procurement of technology and services for KPMGI and the KPMG Global Organization. The successful candidate is likely to be already providing similar contracting services as an in-house lawyer in another consultancy/professional services firm. The person appointed will be an effective team player, interested in the opportunity to join the legal team of KPMGI. He/she will report into the head of the Indian legal team.
The recruit will complement the activities of the members of the onshore team by:
- Assisting with respect to procurement agreements, with a particular focus on technology and services contracts
- Responding to miscellaneous contract-related enquiries
- Drafting and advising on contract terms
- Providing solutions to contract-related problems
- Liaising with other Global professionals in risk management, data privacy, IT and data security, technology and software development, IT infrastructure; and helping with the development of policies and processes with respect to procurement agreements.
Eligibility
Educational qualifications: LLB or LLM
Work Experience
- The candidate should have 4 – 8 years of relevant experience drafting & negotiating general commercial contracts, technology and services agreements.
- Experience with trademark and domain name matters.
- Data privacy agreement reviews are desirable.
Mandatory technical & functional skills
- Experience handling legal or contracting queries, drafting and negotiating legal documents including technology agreements.
- Experience assisting on trademark renewals and registrations.
- Ability to respond to domain name and misuse issues.
- Analytical abilities with attention to detail.
- Ability to articulate points in writing and orally, clearly and succinctly.
- Ability to persuade and influence where necessary.
- Capabilities in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and use of websites.
