Details of the Job/Internship
Birla Opus is hiring a Team Member – Legal with 5–7 years of experience to join their office in Mumbai.
Role and Responsibilities
- Advise manufacturing units on compliance frameworks and manage end-to-end compliance systems.
- Drive governance culture across plants and ensure adherence to statutory requirements.
- Lead audits, prepare compliance checklists, identify gaps, and ensure timely closures.
- Manage manufacturing licences, amendments, and regulatory approvals.
- Provide guidance on labour laws, environmental regulations, and plant operations.
- Implement best practices across business units to strengthen compliance structures.
- • Ensure compliance with Plastic Waste and Hazardous Waste Management Rules.
- • Lead sensitisation on new labour codes and ensure implementation across units.
- Handle matters under labour and employment laws, Factories Act, and industrial relations.
- Support disciplinary actions, statutory liaison, and employment litigations.
- Conduct training on POSH, CLRA and other critical topics.
- Represent the company before courts and NGT; draft responses to notices and litigation documents.
- Draft precise legal documents including plaints, replies, statements, memos, and notices.
- Draft, vet, negotiate and finalise various commercial contracts and agreements.
- Manage MSAs, NDAs, software agreements, LOIs, MOUs, and vendor contracts.
- Conduct property due diligence, review land records, and manage lease/licence documentation.
- Finalise contracts with supply chain partners including 3PL, transport and C&F agents.
Eligibility
- LL.B./LL.M./BA LL.B. from a recognised institute.
- 5–7 years of post-qualification experience.
- Strong English drafting and articulation skills.
