Details of the Job/Internship
Cipla is hiring a Team Member - Legal with experience of 2–5 years to join their office in Mumbai.
Role and Responsibilities
- Conduct independent trademark searches in Indian and international jurisdictions.
- Provide detailed risk notes to business units regarding the registrability and use of trademarks.
- Draft and respond to Examination Reports, Notices of Opposition, counterstatements, and affidavits.
- Attend show-cause hearings and manage the timely renewal of trademarks.
- Review trade dress and packaging to advise on usability across multiple jurisdictions.
- Draft, review, and negotiate intellectual property assignment agreements (Trademarks, Copyrights, and Patents).
- Execute cease and desist notices and advise on matters of disparagement or misuse.
- Perform trademark due diligence to advise on the viability of brands during transactions.
- Assist in product launches by suggesting appropriate risk-mitigating measures for commercial transactions.
Eligibility
- Education: Qualified LLB from a recognized university.
- Experience: 2 to 5 years of total legal experience.
- Demonstrated ability to manage legal documents and commercial agreements independently.
- Proficiency in legal research and trademark office actions.
