Details of the Job/Internship

Aditya Birla Capital is hiring a Team Member Legal with experience in Mid-Market or Corporate Collections to join their Mumbai unit

Role and Responsibilities

• Documentation (Non-Litigation): Draft, review, and finalize transaction loan documents and project reports for Corporate, SME, and Digital lending verticals.
• Structuring & Due Diligence: Conduct due diligence on project documents and title search reports to minimize and address legal risks.
• Litigation Management: Coordinate and manage litigation cases, including the preparation of responses and correspondence for notices and pleadings.
• Statutory Drafting: Finalize legal notices and replies under the Negotiable Instruments Act (1881), IBC (2016), and SARFAESI Act (2002).
• Counsel Coordination: Brief external legal counsels and law firms to ensure successful resolution of disputes and recovery matters.
• Collections Support: Provide on-ground support for collections and utilize fraud systems/MIS for risk tracking.
• Legal Advisory: Monitor and disseminate updates on case laws and regulatory changes (RBI/Statutory) to internal stakeholders.
• Strategic Support: Assist the reporting manager in providing general legal advice and developing mitigation strategies for identified business concerns.

Eligibility

• Qualification: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law (LLB / LLM).
• Experience: Prior experience in Collection for Mid-Market or Corporate segments is essential.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in MIS and fraud detection systems; strong legal research and analytical thinking.
• Competencies: High ethical standards, effective stakeholder management, and the ability to understand complex deal structures.
• Mobility: Flexibility for travel and on-ground presence for collection activities.
