Details of the Job/Internship

FICO is hiring for the position of Technology Lawyer with 10 years of experience to join their office in Mumbai. 

Role and Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including:
  • Sales and service contracts
  • Software license agreements
  • Subcontracts and procurement agreements
  • NDAs and other legal documents
• Collaborate with sales and business teams on deal structuring and contract negotiations, including RFP responses.
• Ensure compliance with FICO’s legal policies while mitigating legal risks.
• Analyze terms related to liability, IP rights, indemnification, and license grants, making revisions as needed.
• Coordinate cross-functional contract reviews with product, services, and finance teams.
• Assist with template updates, contract interpretation, and translation when required.
• Identify and escalate red-flag issues, working with stakeholders to obtain necessary approvals.
• Help safeguard FICO against potential contract liabilities, damages, and penalties.

Eligibility

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active license to practice law in any recognized jurisdiction.
• 10+ years of relevant legal experience, preferably within a corporate legal department.
• Proven expertise in software licensing and technology transactions.
• Strong skills in contract drafting, negotiation, and risk assessment.
• Ability to interpret and apply key legal principles including intellectual property, liability, indemnity, and warranties.
• Familiarity with legal frameworks across Asia Pacific and U.S. jurisdictions, particularly relating to software and IP law.
