Details of the Job/Internship
They are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive individual to join their legal team as a Trademark Filing, Opposition, and Objection Specialist. This role involves managing various aspects of trademark law, including filing applications, handling oppositions, and addressing objections. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of trademark procedures and a commitment to ensuring the protection of intellectual property rights.
Role and Responsibilities
Trademark Filing:
- Prepare and file trademark applications with the appropriate authorities.
- Conduct comprehensive trademark searches to assess the availability of proposed marks.
- Maintain accurate records of all filed applications and related correspondence.
Trademark Opposition:
- Monitor published trademark applications to identify potential conflicts.
- Prepare and file notices of opposition against conflicting trademark applications.
- Collaborate with legal counsel to develop strategies for opposition proceedings.
Trademark Objection:
- Review office actions and objections raised by trademark examiners.
- Draft and submit responses to address objections and facilitate the registration process.
- Advise clients on overcoming objections and improving the registrability of their marks.
Eligibility
- Bachelor's degree in Law or a related field.
- Basic understanding of trademark laws and procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in trademark law or intellectual property rights is advantageous.
- Familiarity with trademark databases and filing systems.
