Details of the Job/Internship
Brainwave Science is hiring a Trademark Registration Specialist with 1–2+ years of experience to manage trademark searches, USPTO filings, and Madrid Protocol applications on a part-time, remote, project-based basis.
Role and Responsibilities
- Conduct clearance searches across USPTO, WIPO, EUIPO, UKIPO, and other databases.
- Identify conflicts, risks, and class selection strategies.
- Prepare and file USPTO trademark applications.
- Select appropriate NICE classes for hardware, software, and wellness services.
- Prepare documentation for Madrid Protocol filings and manage country designations.
- Track USPTO/WIPO filings and maintain records.
- Draft responses to office actions or objections.
- Advise on global IP protection and potential future marks.
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, IP, Paralegal Studies, or equivalent experience.
- 1–2+ years of direct trademark filing experience, especially with USPTO.
- Experience working independently as a freelancer/consultant.
- Strong knowledge of NICE classification, USPTO systems, Madrid Protocol, WIPO, and EUIPO.
- Experience with office actions or international filings is a plus.
- Strong communication, analytical skills, and ability to work independently.
