Amicorp Group is hiring for the position of Trust Lawyer with 10 years of experience to join their office in Mumbai.
Role and Responsibilities
- Portfolio Management: Manage a portfolio of trusts and corporate entities, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal procedures.
- Documentation: Draft and review trust-related legal documents including trustee resolutions, deeds of amendment, letters, and other agreements.
- Compliance & Governance: Conduct regular reviews of each entity, ensuring complete, accurate, and up-to-date client files (both physical and electronic).
- Structuring & Legal Research: Provide legal analysis and pragmatic solutions for structuring trusts and commercial entities, addressing issues such as transfer-ins, beneficiary disputes, weak deeds, and international tax considerations.
- Client Relationship Management: Maintain and expand strong relationships with high-net-worth individuals, families, intermediaries, and legal counsel, ensuring professional and efficient client service.
- Risk & Regulatory Oversight: Anticipate emerging regulatory, taxation, or legal changes and ensure compliance-related risks are addressed. Ensure adherence to Amicorp’s 4-Pillar approach: compliance, legal & corporate services, transaction monitoring, and tax transparency.
- Commercial & Financial Management: Achieve chargeability targets, monitor transactions, manage pricing and invoicing, and ensure timely fee collection.
- Advisory & Representation: Act as a trusted advisor, provide ongoing client communication, participate in client acceptance committees (CAC), and represent Amicorp in external forums, roundtables, and publications.
- Business Development: Identify opportunities to promote Amicorp’s services, grow existing portfolios, and generate new client referrals. Support marketing, sales, and internal training initiatives across the Group.
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; professional trust-related qualifications required.
- STEP qualification in trust and tax is highly advantageous.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in trust/estate law or a similar industry role.
- Strong commercial acumen with a proactive, results-driven, and client-focused approach.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and client-facing skills with the ability to liaise effectively at all levels.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills; English fluency required, additional languages preferred.
- Ability to work independently, manage complex portfolios, and deliver solutions with professionalism and precision.
