Details of the Organization

Vaikunta Baliga College of law, Udupi is the second oldest law college in the State of Karnataka. Udupi Law College was established in the year 1957 and is named after the Late Sri. B. Vaikunta Baliga, a legal luminary and the then Minister of law, Government of Mysore.

Details of the Moot Court Competition

The College every year hosts the Advocate P Shivaji Shetty National Level Moot Court competition which provides a great opportunity for the students to prove their mettle.

Eligibility

Law Schools/Colleges / Institutes / Universities, recognized by the Bar Council of India are eligible to participate in the National Level Moot Court Competition, 2025. The participants should currently be pursuing their Bachelor's Degree in Law, i.e. Three Year or Five Year Law Courses.

Awards

Moot Court

• Winners: Rs. 20,000 with Trophy.
• Runners-up: Rs. 10,000 with Trophy.
• Best Memorials: Rs. 5,000 with Trophy. 
• Best Advocate: Rs. 3,000 with Trophy .
• Best Lady Advocate: Rs. 3,000 with Trophy.

Judgement Writing 

• First Prize: Rs. 2,500 with Trophy.
• Second Prize: Rs. 1,500 with Trophy.

Registration Fees (if any)

The Participating team shall duly fill the Registration Form provided and send it along with the Registration fee of Rs. 5000/- (Rupees Five Thousand only-with Accommodation) or Rs. 3500/- (Rupees Three Thousand Five Hundred only-without Accommodation), which is not refundable. The teams shall submit the registration form along with the Payment Details.
