Details of the Job/Internship
Drishti IAS is hiring a VP – Legal with 10–20 years of experience to join their Head Office in Karol Bagh.
Role and Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the organisation’s legal strategy aligned with long-term goals.
- Advise senior leadership on major decisions, policies, and expansion plans.
- Ensure compliance across coaching centres, EdTech platforms, digital services, privacy laws, and employment regulations.
- Establish internal compliance frameworks, audits, SOPs, and risk-control mechanisms.
- Draft, review, and negotiate vendor contracts, faculty and employee agreements, licensing documents, MoUs, and real estate/rental contracts.
- Maintain a centralised legal document repository.
- Oversee IP strategy for study material, video lectures, books, digital products, trademarks, and copyrights.
- Handle issues related to piracy, content theft, unauthorised distribution, and plagiarism.
- Manage all legal cases, notices, disputes, and arbitration matters in coordination with external counsel.
- Represent the organisation in legal proceedings when required.
- Formulate internal policies related to data protection, HR, anti-harassment, grievance redressal, centre operations, and student conduct.
- Conduct legal due diligence for new branches, acquisitions, partnerships, and vendor onboarding.
- Identify legal risks and implement preventive measures.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and government authorities for permissions, inspections, audits, and compliance requirements.
- Lead and mentor the legal and compliance team across all locations.
Eligibility
- LLB/LLM from a reputed university.
- 10–20 years of legal experience, including 5–8 years in the Education/EdTech sector.
- Expertise in contract management, regulatory compliance, intellectual property, digital content compliance, and litigation.
- Strong drafting, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage compliance across multiple centres with high integrity and sound judgement.
