Details of the Job/Internship

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced WordPress Developer with a deep understanding of plugin development and high-traffic blog management. The ideal candidate will have a passion for clean and efficient coding, an expert-level understanding of WordPress architecture, and the ability to optimize and maintain large-scale, high-traffic websites. You will play a crucial role in developing custom plugins, enhancing website performance, and ensuring the scalability and stability of our web platforms.

Role and Responsibilities

Develop custom WordPress plugins tailored to specific business needs while adhering to WordPress coding standards.
Maintain and optimize high-traffic WordPress websites, ensuring top-tier performance, security, and scalability.
Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or bottlenecks related to the website’s performance, stability, and uptime.
Optimize database queries and handle server configurations to support large volumes of website traffic.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (designers, content creators, SEO specialists) to ensure smooth integration of new features and updates.
Implement best practices for WordPress theme and plugin development to ensure modularity, reusability, and maintainability.
Ensure SEO optimization and ensure that the website adheres to the best practices for speed and ranking.
Regularly monitor website traffic and performance analytics, identifying areas for improvement and applying fixes.
Conduct security audits, update WordPress core, plugins, and themes to protect from vulnerabilities.
Develop automated testing and continuous integration pipelines to ensure the website remains robust during updates and deployments.
Manage caching, CDN integration, and other performance optimization tools to handle large traffic loads efficiently.
Keep up with the latest industry trends, tools, and WordPress updates to continually improve the website.

Eligibility

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
5+ years of experience in WordPress development, with a focus on plugin development and high-traffic website management.
Expert knowledge of PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and MySQL.
Proven experience in developing and maintaining custom WordPress plugins.
Strong understanding of WordPress architecture, including themes, plugins, hooks, filters, and the WordPress REST API.
Experience with server-side optimizations (caching, database management) for high-traffic WordPress websites.
Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development environments.
Proficiency in working with APIs, CDNs, and third-party services integration.
Knowledge of SEO best practices for WordPress and experience implementing SEO improvements.
Experience with performance optimization tools such as caching plugins (e.g., W3 Total Cache, WP Super Cache), and CDNs.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude towards troubleshooting and issue resolution.
Experience with WooCommerce and large-scale e-commerce websites.
Familiarity with server management (Linux, Apache, Nginx) and database administration (MySQL).
Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure for hosting high-traffic websites.
Understanding of headless WordPress implementations using modern JavaScript frameworks like React or Vue.js.
