Amity Law School Lucknow Campus (ALS-L) is a constituent unit of Amity University, Uttar Pradesh & it was established in the year 2007 with the sole objective to impart research & innovation-driven education in the region. Amity Law School of Amity University Lucknow Campus is currently headed by Prof. (Dr.) J.P. Yadav. The Law School has successfully organized various events from time to time around the year like International and National Seminars, Law Fests and Carnivals, Workshops, National Quizzes, National & Intra Moot Court Competition and National Faculty Development Programs to name a few.
Details of the Moot Court Competition
Amity Law School Lucknow Campus (ALS-L) is organising their XV National Amity Moot Court Competition 2024, an event that stands as a testament to legal scholarship and excellence on 29th February, 1st and 2nd March. The XV National Amity Moot Court Competition serves as a prominent platform for legal minds to engage in rigorous intellectual discourse, fostering an environment where participants can demonstrate their legal acumen and analytical skills.
Eligibility
- The Competition is open to all students, enrolled bona fide regularly in an undergraduate law course conducted by any recognised College/Institution/University.
- A recognized College/Institution/University is entitled to send a maximum of 3 Teams to the Competition.
- Each Team shall comprise a minimum of two members and a maximum of three members. The Team is comprised of two members, both members shall be designated as Orators and one among them shall be designated as a researcher as well. In a Team comprising three members, two members shall be designated as Orators and the third member shall be designated as a Researcher.
- Each team will have a team code (designated during the draw of lots). Each team shall be assigned a Team Code selected by the Organizing Committee. The team shall use its Team Code for identification purposes. The names of participants or their colleges may not appear on or within the Written Submissions. Signature pages are prohibited.
- No additional member or team coach is allowed to accompany the team.

Registration and Application Details
- Each Team must register by filling up the registration form available on the Official Website and paying the registration fee as provided. Each Team shall complete such registration by 10th February 2024. (11:59 P.M. IST).
- Registration fees is Rs. 4,500/- (Rupees Four Thousand Five Hundred) + GST.
- Registration Fee will be NON-REFUNDABLE, in case of non-participation or otherwise as may deem fit.
- Participants shall register themselves through the registration link below or the website:
- The Reporting time is 10:00 a.m. on 29th February 2024 at the registration desk of the competition venue and submission of Hard Copy.
Submission Guidelines
- Each Team is required to prepare Written Submissions for both sides, i.e., the Complainant and the Respondent of the case.
- A Written Submission shall be identified solely by the Team Code assigned to the Team. The Written Submissions shall not, in any way, disclose any fact about the identity of the Team, its members, or the College/Institution/University represented by the Team.
- Each team is required to submit 10 memorials (Hard copies) i.e., 5 Memorials for the Petitioner side and 5 Memorials for the Respondent side at the registration desk on arrival.
- One soft copy (only in pdf. format) must be emailed by 20th February 2024 (23:59 Hours IST) with the subject “Memorials for TC _ _”. The file names of the electronic copies of the Memorials must contain only the team code and the side being represented in the following format: e.g.
- (For Team Code 13) 13P or 13R, “P” being for “Petitioner” Memorial and “R” for “Respondent” Memorial and so forth.
- The hard copy submissions must be identical to the soft copy submission. Violation of this rule would entail disqualification from the Competition.
The memorial shall be printed on A4 size paper, with the following mandatory formatting specifications:
- Font Type: Times New Roman
- Font Size: 12
- 1.5 line spacing
- Margin: 1 inch on each side

A Written Submission shall consist of the following mandatory heads:
- a. Cover Page
- b. Table of Contents
- c. List of Abbreviations
- d. Index of Authorities (with the page number of authority cited):
- e. Statement of Jurisdiction.
- f. Statement of Facts (not exceeding 2 pages):
- g. Statement of Issues
- h. Summary of Arguments (not exceeding 2 pages):
- i. Arguments Advanced (not exceeding 25 pages)
- j. Prayer (not exceeding 1 page)
The Cover Page of a Written Submission must contain the following information:
- The Team Code is in the upper right-hand corner.
- The name and place of the jurisdiction
- The Relevant Provision under which the case is filed
- Name of Parties and Status
- The side for which the Written Submission has been prepared
- Memorial Filed on Behalf of……………….
It is further clarified that the Organizing Committee reserves the right to refuse acceptance of any memorial which violates any of the norms prescribed. Further, the cover page should be printed on the same paper used to print the remainder of the memorial.
Participating team shall not include their name or their institution’s name anywhere in the memorial so prepared for the competition.
The team shall cite authorities in the Memorial using footnotes following the Oxford Bluebook 20th Edition (Blue Pages). Explanatory or illustrative footnotes are not allowed.
The Colour of the cover page must be:
- Blue in the case of Petitioner/Applicant & Red in the case of Defendant/Respondent
- The colour of the cover page shall compulsorily be Red and Blue (as the case may be) and no other variant of the colour shall be used.

- The registration fee will be non-refundable in case of non-participation after registration.
