Do you sometimes feel that the growth opportunity in traditional areas of law practice is limited? Do you want to specialise in areas which are going to be pandemic-resistant?

Do you sometimes feel a stagnation in your career and want to explore working in high-growth areas which will dominate the future?

Does technology law excite you? Do you fancy building your career as a lawyer by working with global technology giants, or fast-growing Silicon Valley and domestic technology startups?

Do you want to know how a lawyer can cater to the legal needs of organisations working in domains such as cryptocurrency, Artificial Intelligence, blockchain, e-commerce, or the Software as a Service (SaaS) industry?

Technology law is one of the most important emerging areas for big law firms, for boutique law firms and for independent practitioners who want to build a name for themselves, and the market will become sophisticated in the next 5 - 10 years.

Join us for a 3-day bootcamp on BUILDING AN INTERNATIONAL CAREER IN TECHNOLOGY LAW from Oct 6, Oct 7, Oct 9, 2023, 7-10 pm IST

Don’t be misled by these three myths:

Don’t let the following myths stop you

  • #1: Tech Law is the sum-total of the Information Technology Act, Rules, Notifications, Amendments and case laws - the scope for a lawyer appears to be very limited in the sector.
  • #2: You need a degree in science, or engineering, or background in computers to understand and excel in tech-law.
  • #3: Lawyers from India and developing countries in Asia and Africa can only work for clients in their local jurisdiction and cannot work for foreign startups in the Silicon Valley, Tel Aviv, Berlin or US law firms as they are not qualified to practice law in those jurisdictions.

See what the participants have to say about our earlier bootcamps

Dear Ramanuj Sir,
I am a law graduate working as an Associate for a Boutique IP Law Firm. I had recently attended LawSikho's International IP Law Bootcamp and was really inspired by your motivation to utilise freelance platforms like Upwork. You had also mentioned how it is important to start doing something instead of merely thinking about it. I had followed your advice and submitted a profile on Upwork. The same was however not accepted. I did not lose any hope, and started researching on how to modify my profile so that the Upwork platform accepts the same. After working on it a couple of days, I had uploaded a fresh profile description and the same was approved. This gave me a sense of achievement. I then started exploring the different kinds of work available and started submitting proposals. After submitting about 6 proposals, 2 of them had invited me for an interview. The first one unfortunately did not choose to select me for the job, maybe because of the lack of testimonials and reviews on my profile, but the second client asked me if I was available for a Skype call. We fixed it for an appropriate time for the both of us, 9am for him, 6:30pm for me.
He needed certain advice regarding Medical Law in India. Even though I was not so aware of the same, I trusted my research skills and started working on the work. The job was only for $50 but I focused on the work as I was aiming for good feedback. The Skype call went so good that the Client had revoked the previous job and sent me an offer for $100. He also mentioned that he did not expect so much information from me and that the other two candidates he had interviewed before me had given him advice which was against their plan of action. I was not only able to prove the other candidates wrong but was able to give the client complete confidence that he could rely upon my research, information and advice.
A month ago, even though I had ample work from my workplace, I was still feeling that I was wasting a lot of time. But I'm glad that I attended the Bootcamp because LawSikho has shown me the perfect direction to utilise my time in the most efficient manner. I will be forever indebted to you and Abhyuday Sir. I am also hoping to enroll into the International IP Law Course soon too.

Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge with us!

Oh, what a boot camp!! Informative, impactful, brilliant. Within this limited amount of time, I learned so much. Maybe I didn't gather this much knowledge in the last 6 months. Attending this boot camp is one of the best decisions I made in my career.
What I learned today at the end of day 3-
1. How to draft a US-law compliant technology transfer agreement.
2. How to draft a DMCA counter-notice.
3. How to draft a response to a USPTO office action.
Ramanuj Mukherjee and Abhyuday Agarwal Thank you so much for helping me enriching my knowledge and skill set in the IP field.

I had a mind blowing session and my mindset just had a positive shift to amazing global opportunities available to lawyers and law students.
Here are my few takes during the 1st session;
1. Remote work generally has come to stay and this already has implications on the future of legal service delivery globally.
2. To access global opportunities /jobs as a lawyer, focus on legal services that can be exported.
Looking forward to day 2 of this BOOTCAMP!
