Soni Kumari, (May 2023 batch) a BCom (Accountancy) graduate from Ranchi University is the founder of DecodeJobs an HR Recruitment Firm based in Bengaluru. 

After joining the course, she was appointed as an HR Consultant in a Startup in the Software Sector. Initially, her role was for onboarding, then staffing, payrolling, and finally she is into developing contracts for outsourcing manpower

She charges the client per service. She has been able to draft various agreements, letters, etc for them. She has been able to earn 30,000 in 2 months on various services. 

Now she is involved in consulting for Beauty salons and Haircare chains. She has helped them develop franchises for their company, team onboarding, and hiring.

She has also designed the business model for them- and developed guidelines and protocols for the entire franchisee. 

In a month, She has been able to earn Rs 2,000 per visit. She visits thrice a week. She has also hired one person in her team who was a Student of Lawsikho. (this was with the help of freelancers available at Lawsikho) She pays her Rs 15,000/- per month plus incentive. 

She has a team of 5 people, of which one is a freelancer available from Lawsikho.

Kavita Somara, (November 2022 batch), was working in a garment manufacturing company in Jaipur in HRM Operations. After joining our course, she was promoted to Assistant General Manager of Human Resources (AGM HR) with a 25% increase in her previous salary. This was done as she had taken up additional responsibility in the factory for policy implementation and compliance. She intends to start her HR consultancy in the future.

Ashish Bhushan, (October 2020 batch), was working as a  Journalist before enrolling with us. He is now working in Industrial Relations Aspects. He has switched from  Mukand Sumi Special Steel Ltd. to Vaaman Engineer (I) Ltd, Mumbai. He got a 70% hike in salary. Adhiyaman VK, (June 2022 batch) a 2013 MBA graduate of Dr. MGR University, Educational, and Research Institute, enrolled in our course to learn to draft agreements to assist his father (Advocate). He started attending classes and doing assignments. He learned the skills and gradually he started drafting in his company LOOKMAN ELECTROPLAST INDUSTRIES LIMITED based in Chennai. He drafted nearly 15 agreements which included settlement agreements, Lease Deeds, and NDAs for Govt projects my company undertook. He was serving as an HR Manager in his company and got promoted to Manager of HR & Legal. He secured a hike of 40%. He is currently learning more about Labour laws to expand his knowledge from our course. He is happy with upskilling and gives credit to LawSikho for helping him.

Sunetra Mukherjee, (June 2022 batch),  lives in Kolkata and has over 13 years of experience in the HR profession, with a core HR generalist profile. She has obtained her full-time BBA and MBA degrees from Burdwan University. 

She has worked with Mitra SK Pvt Ltd, Aegis Global, Jubilant Foodworks Ltd (Dominos), and Senco Gold and Diamonds. She had to take a break of nearly 4 years from her career. She now wanted to join back – she needed to be updated about the labor codes and the latest laws, contracts, and compliance work. 

She did the work for 3 months since June 2022 and has recently joined EBIW Info Analytics Pvt. Ltd. (Golden partner of Oracle) as the HR Business Partner from July 2022. Has a consultancy job along with her current job—a 40% salary hike. The company has a presence in Mexico and Bangladesh. She has implemented a project management tool here which helps in assessing the exact headcount needed in departments and identifying leakages in processes, identifying skill gaps, and improving the time management of employees. This company is going to launch a digital recruitment tool and she will be leading this initiative, she will also be taking care of the marketing and sales department and technology requirements concerning it. She has been paid 1600 USD this month as an incentive apart from her regular pay.

Under her contract, she is free to pursue remote work as long as it does not conflict with official responsibilities. She also does remote freelancing work for a few other companies in her free time for example Pinnacle Digital Analytics Pvt Ltd. Many Organisations she is associated with as a Recruitment partner like GKB opticals in Kolkata, Jayanta Lamps in Kolkata and Swadesh Softwares in Durgapur etc.

She is also starting freelance work for a client in a coffee chain business for recruitment requirements and they are trying to set up their business in Kolkatta, Mumbai, and Bangalore. 

She has hired a freelancer to help her with the freelance work she is doing regarding recruitment.

Anjali Suneja, (December 2022 batch), is a 2010 MBA graduate of Dayananda Sagar Business School and a  Strategic and innovative HR with 13+ years of experience in translating business vision into HR initiatives. Over the past few months, she has initiated the process, and below are some of the actions she has undertaken: 

  • She has taken up an assignment on end-to-end POSH Documentation along with policy framing for a Company, where she is going to receive a compensation package of Rs 2,00,000/- (Rupees Two Lakhs Only).
  • She has signed a Training agreement with a Hospital In Jaipur where she will be delivering 15 hours of POSH training in the next 3 months where she will receive an amount of Rs 55,000/- (Rupees Fifty Five Thousand Only);
  • For a resort in Jaipur Anjali has been able to draft the policy, helped them to constitute ICC and employee sensitizing training and orientation of ICC members are going on.
  • On Linkedin, one HRBP from a reputed hospital in Ahmedabad (Shrimad Rajchandra Hospital and Research Centre-SRHRC) approached her to review their Sexual Harassment policy and constitution of ICC and he appreciated the same.
  • She has also initiated the process for getting associated with Jaipur WICCI (Women’s Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry) Anti-sexual Harassment Council. 
  • She has recently been approached by “Metis-POSH Consulting Service LLP”, for an associate position as a freelance POSH trainer.
  • To pay back to society she has taken 4 free cost sessions on POSH every month for different NGOs or organisations
  • She is also in discussion with TPOs from management institutes of Jaipur, to get associated as a POSH Faculty/guest lecturer. She believes this will help to bring awareness at the root level for future HR Managers.

Apart from the above, she also received a job offer in the HR Field for a payment of Rs 28,00,000/- (Rupees Twenty Eight Lakhs Per Annum), However, she refused to go forward with the same and now wishes to work individually and grow her practice in the field.

She earns almost 2 lakhs per month and apart from that, recently she got a company where she is required to visit 16-20 hours a month to help them in HR Setup, policies, compliances, POSH and is paid 70K per month

She is in touch with another company where she will be working on HR set-up, policy and compliances and the delivery period for the whole is 2 months and she will be paid a total of 2.30 Lakhs for the same.

She is also getting POSH training work from companies, where she can quote INR 55k for the POSH training.

Small company size of around 40-50 people, INR 30-40k for POSH training/ awareness sessions, for a higher company size she charges above INR 55k.

The course has helped her to increase her clientele. She used to reach out to clients but now they are approaching. Now she is getting double the clients she used to get earlier, every month. This has helped her increase her charges by 50% for POSH training and HR work both on average. The outreach techniques taught for LinkedIn have helped her to increase her clientele.

She has increased her team size from 4 freelancers to 7 freelancers. 

She joined us 1 year back.  

Her next goal is to have 6 clients per month and carry out more POSH training for educational institutes.

Dr. Sima Dey, (October 2022 batch), a Human Resource Specialist with 17+ years of experience in the field, was building her consultancy and had 5 clients then.

She has 15 client retainers and increased her earnings multiple times. She primarily provides services around virtual HR partnerships, employee engagement, talent acquisition POSH consultancy, etc. 

Suvamoy Ghosh, (November 2022 batch), a 2012 graduate from Calcutta University, was working in a Kolkata-based company as an HR professional.

He was earning INR 26K per month. He is the youngest member of the decision-making board for HR, administration, etc. 

After joining our courses, he took up several additional responsibilities such as working on disciplinary proceedings, HR-related drafting, and statutory compliance work. 

For this reason, he has secured a substantial increment and earns INR 35K/month.

He has also worked with several international clients from Armenia (Europe), Scotland, Croatia (Europe), and Georgia, and is also working with multiple Indian clients. He earns an additional INR 20K/month from freelance work, that is, a total of INR 55K per month. 

He has secured multiple job opportunities which he rejected earlier, offering to work as a freelancer with his prospective employers instead.

As of today, he has got a full-time offer from a company in Siliguri, which has offered him INR 55K/month. 

However, he is exploring an offer from a German company that has offered to hire him for its Noida office, and they plan to pay him tentatively INR 75K per month. He plans to continue working as a freelancer outside his work hours, which would enable him to earn around INR 1 lakh per month.

His next goal is to open his own HR consultancy firm in a couple of years.

Prachir Sogani, (February 2019 batch), a 2016 graduate of Malaviya National Institute of Technology Jaipur runs an HR consultancy in Jaipur. He was initially doing HR compliances (PF, ESI returns, gratuity, and Payment of Bonus forms), and wanted to do more high-margin work. 

He used to submit exercises every week and could start adding more value to clients by adding the following 8 new services:

  • Drafting employment and consultancy contracts for startups and SMEs
  • Completing HR documentation – HR Handbook, policy implementation, Code of Conduct
  • Drafting and reviewing responses to statutory authorities,
  • Notices for misconduct, advice on disciplinary proceedings, drafting letters in various scenarios  
  • Preparing a document trail for payment disputes and other disputes with employees
  • Interpretation work related to the new Code on Wages – organizations want to prepare in advance. 
  • Advising on accidents in factories, and workmen’s compensation policies 
  • Contract labour work and BOCW Act. 

He was also able to generate higher client satisfaction, get referrals, and earn more per client. He provides better services than competitors because they are only doing return-filing work.

Dr. Jaya Mishra, (July 2018 batch), a 2010 MBA in human resources from Symbiosis, later completed her PhD in Human Resource Management and services from IIFM in 2016. At that time she was working as Head of HR in Contentserv. 

In March 2019, she got the position of Director at Unifi Software, where she was helping foreign businesses expand operations into India. She had prepared checklists from the courses and was able to work effectively with third-party consultants and check their work. She also worked on the acquisition of the company by Dell – the due diligence went through successfully because everything was in place.  In February 2020, she founded an HR consulting firm in Bhopal named The Brimic which provides numerous HR solutions ranging from recruitment, an external HR help desk, HR audits, and other services for companies of sizes 10 to 12,000, and has a fully remote team of 15 people.

The labor law certificate adds to her credibility, and she was able to increase her confidence and conceptualize many services from the learnings of the course.

Kritika Shukla, (June 2022 batch), a 2013 graduate was working on a part-time basis in operations with a company, applied for an international part-time job for a company based in the Netherlands, and was amongst the 3 shortlisted people out of 800 applicants. Her final round with the founder is scheduled in the coming days. 

She also got connected with another organisation based in Manchester working on uplifting the community in Africa through LinkedIn. At present, she is working with a company named Multiplier, a Payroll Software company based in New York.

Asgar Ali, (February 2019 batch), a 2021 graduate of Parul University was a Safety Officer in a Factory when he joined our course. He had to be on top of Factories Act compliances and rules, environment, health, and safety-related regulations, and also work with contractors and third parties. 

His company was the principal employer and they could be liable for violations of contractors, so a lot rested on his shoulders. 

He joined our courses in 2019 and started doing the assignments. He found them connected with his job profile. 

He started by making compliance calendars for the factory so that things became streamlined. This was doable because he had done it in the course. He then implemented other changes. 

He became HR head in 1 year and now heads two plants for a company which employ 5500 workers.

She is very successful today and has consulted several clients such as NIIT, HDFC, TCS, Digisol, ICSI, BITS-Pilani, Daikin, Generico, HPCL, etc., Discovery channel, SBI and industry associations and regulators like  NASSCOM and ICSI (Mumbai & Surat), also a council member of WICCI’s anti-sexual harassment council (Maharashtra).   

In 3 years, she now has 53 clients and is now empanelled with 30+ companies as an external member! 

She has created a very unique model of client onboarding and servicing which has enabled her to take on more clients.  

She uses Canva to make content for emails.

She started new services with POSH i.e. safety advice to clients by making them known on how to avoid accidents in offices.

She earns 3.5 lakhs per month (double her last earned salary in the corporate sector).

In 4 months she has earned 14 lakhs.

She has grown 100% in revenue over the last year and her target is to reach 400% this year.

Ruchi Ahluwalia, (January 2020 batch), was HR head at Scania Commercial Vehicles and had been HR Head at Carl Zeiss India earlier when she joined our labour laws program. After enrolling with us, she secured a job at Quess Corp, a listed company that is India’s largest private sector employer (employs 400,000 people). 

She has already prepared the company for the implementation of the upcoming Labour Codes due to the insights gained in the course.

Shipra Kumar, (January 2020 batch), a former HR Consultant at EY and head of a Singapore-based pharma company for compensation and benefits, moved from Singapore to India after 15 years and wanted to start an independent HR consulting service with a focus on executive coaching. She wanted to learn the legal aspects so that she could advise senior-level executives correctly.  

After pursuing the program, she could effectively guide executives without fear that her advice violates Indian laws. She does a lot of HR policy formulation work and training as well for senior management and is the External Member of several ICs. She shares her story here.

Rituparna Dutta, (May 2022 batch), has been working in the HR domain for the last 10 years now. Our course has helped her in switching her role from a project Management Consultant’ to a ‘Regulatory Compliance Manager’ at a new company. Pinky Basak, (October 2022 batch), a 2006 BBA graduate from Techno India Institute of Technology, has been working as an HR generalist for the past 14 years in Kolkata. She is currently an Administrative and HR Manager at the Apollo Clinic. 

She has been able to register 2 of her office clinics under shops and establishment acts. 

She has been successfully able to do the registrations and personally applied for the license and has got it. In the interim, they have also gotten in touch with the Apollo legal team and ensured that all 32 clinics in West Bengal get the license.

Anuradha Gandhi, (November 2022 batch), is a 1993 BA graduate from Hindu College, Delhi, and a lawyer with 25+ years of experience. She has been able to act as a POSH Consultant for SS Rana and Co. With her journey in the POSH Course with us, she has been able to deliver gender-neutral policies for the organization and take charge of the ICC proceedings at the firm.

Simrat Mathroo, (Oct 2022 batch), Assistant Vice President in BSES Yamuna Power Limited (Joint venture of the Delhi Government and Reliance Energy) holding the charge of Head of the Group of Contractual Manpower Cell. 

Her latest promotion was in 2020 and was posted as Head of the Group, Contractual Manpower Cell where she deals with vendors, deployment of their contractual manpower, and related operations like data management, recruitment, performance evaluation (PMS)  & related statutory compliance like salary, Pf/EPF, ESI, bonus, labor license, etc of outsourced employees.

She has now received an award for the invaluable contribution made by women employees to the success of the company. Apart from the recognition, her organization is now considering her for an ‘out of turn promotion’ for the Level-15 position which shall be implemented on April 23.

Maksuda Monir, (June 2021 batch), a final-year student from Dhaka, Bangladesh, works for 2 long-term clients and also performs independent projects from Upwork and Fiverr. She is not an HR professional but she has still worked on remote HR projects. 

When she was still in college, she started working remotely as a part-time Marketing Officer at ARC287BC Corporation, a research company that works on bicycle tech, based in New Jersey, United States, and did administrative and recruitment-related work – she assisted them in finding freelancers and earns USD 300 per month. Since she is a lawyer now, she does legal work for them. 

Hiring talent for freelance writing work, social media management, engineers, and researchers from Upwork and especially Fiverr. 

Freelancers are very scared and jittery initially when they are new, but they need some hands-on motivation – some of them stuck! 

She also works with other clients. 

She also earns USD 150 per month (for 50 hours of work) by working for a long-term client whose products she lists on Amazon.

Joanna Phillips,(January 2022 batch), a 2019 BA graduate from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar College, secured an opportunity to draft 50 HR policies for a startup. She has access to materials, templates, and videos in our course. She was working as a Business Development Specialist at Go Remote Cloud and currently, she is engaged with Dominion Phillips Educare as an International Certified Coach and Business Consultant. 

Neeta Sinha, (December 2022 batch), a B.Com graduate from Maharani’s College Jaipur, is a Company Secretary with over 15 years of experience and has taught at various business institutes. She currently resides in Noida. Amid the pandemic, she transitioned into the HR field and discovered the course offered by. Upon attending the boot camp, she found the course to be perfectly aligned with her interests.

Within a week of joining our course, Neeta learned the technique of cold emailing and applied it practically. She reached out to a local startup company called Techcospace, located in Noida, and received a positive response, leading to a scheduled meeting. Although the company offered her different work than she initially sought, Neeta embraced the opportunity and assisted them in drafting offer letters. Over time, she gained the company’s trust and began working on various projects. She is currently earning approximately 30,000 per month on a retainer, six weeks into the course from her first gig. She is currently drafting HR policies and handbooks and is in the process of finalizing a deal with another company, which could double the earnings.

Dr. Rushina Khan, (December 2022 batch), a highly accomplished professional, resides in Aurangabad, Maharashtra. With over 10 years of experience in the field of education at the postgraduate level, Dr. Khan holds a Doctorate in Business Administration. She currently serves as an esteemed Assistant Professor (HR) at the renowned Deogiri Institute of Management Studies.

Without wasting any time, she applied for the opportunity and was promptly contacted by the client. Impressing the client with her expertise and diligence, Dr. Khan completed a review task assigned to her. Vishal Pattanayak, (January 2019 batch), a 2019 MBA graduate of Xavier Institute of Management (XIM Bhubaneswar) started his career as an HR Manager – Talent Sourcing at ICICI Bank. He quickly rose the ranks and his role expanded to HR Manager – BGV, then HR Manager – Recruitment, and finally, HR Manager – Business Sourcing, showcasing his remarkable career growth within the organization. 

Leena Raut, (February 2022 batch), a 2005 graduate from the University of Mumbai, secured an opportunity as a Freelancer at Labour Dimensions in January 2023.
