How badly do you want to become a judge?

Do you believe in miracles? Do you believe that someone can want something so badly that they overcome a life-threatening illness to achieve their dream?

Today, let me tell you about two fighters who have chased their dreams of joining the Indian judiciary, no matter what.

Meet Priyanka Sharma, a student of our Judiciary test prep course, who reached out to us to say that she was undergoing treatment for cancer.

But as she was waiting to be taken into the operation theatre for surgery, the one thought that kept her going through all her physical and mental agony was that she wanted to be a judge.

Our Judiciary test prep faculty wanted to do something more for Priyanka, and because cancer treatment is not cheap, we decided to return her entire course fees and offer her a 100 percent scholarship, which we generally provide to students who are People with Disabilities (PWD).

A couple of days ago, Priyanka messaged me to say that her tumour has almost vanished, and she is on the road to recovery! In her words: “That’s the power of positivity which I received from the entire team of LawSikho.”

Do you realise what positive thinking can do? We are truly humbled by Priyanka’s acknowledgment of the small role we have played in her journey, but it is her extraordinary dedication and commitment to her dream of being a judge that has enabled her to fight the deadly disease and still continue her studies.

She has lost her hair owing to chemotherapy, developed other ailments from the side effects of strong medication, and remained confined to her bed for weeks together, unable to even stand up.

And yet, she has refused to give up on her dream.

I have no doubt that Priyanka will make a caring, compassionate judge, one who will change society for the better using her power and influence. No matter what happens in the future, I consider her one of our biggest success stories.

Suman’s story

Alongside Priyanka, I must also mention Suman, an LLM from Kurukshetra University. Having met with an accident many years ago, she has a chronic backache which prevents her from studying for more than two hours at a stretch.

She has no financial support from her family either. Having prepared for the Judiciary exams for more than three years, she attempted the Haryana Judiciary exams twice and Rajasthan once, but could not clear the prelims.

She enrolled with us in July 2022, with the Haryana exam coming up again in three-four months. She began studying our Judiciary test prep course, but asked for a refund because she did not have the money to pay the instalments at one point.

Our test prep team counselled Suman on the way forward, and offered her an unpaid internship for the first month. If she did well, she could earn a stipend starting the next month. She performed very well in the internship, and from her second month onward, began earning a stipend of INR 5,000. Her EMI was around INR 3,000, so she could continue her studies.

She used our content, and followed the instructions of her teachers. Guess what happened? She cleared the Haryana prelims, and began preparing for the mains. Someone whose dreams had nearly died was able to go full steam ahead toward her destiny.

Back up options

Our Judiciary course students can also enrol for a bunch of backup courses AT NO EXTRA COST so they can appear in other government exams that help them get great jobs too, such as UGC NET, SEBI, and IBPS.

Here, I have to introduce you to a remarkable gentleman called Harsh Jain, the man who inspired us to actually set up our entire test prep division, comprising courses for exams like SEBI, UGC-NET, IBPS, AOR, and more.

In 2018, Harsh joined us as an intern, and while his initial goal at LawSikho was to become proficient at corporate law, we soon learned that he had also cleared several competitive exams like Judiciary, bank PO, UGC-NET as a JRF, etc.

Do you know why he was taking these exams? To learn how to clear them, and teach others.

His students had cracked Judiciary exams in Gujarat, UP, Jharkhand, Punjab, Karnataka, MP, Rajasthan and Maharashtra over a period of eight years. And this is what inspired us to hire a team and start our test prep division in 2019. Today, but naturally, Harsh is one of the hosts at our test prep bootcamps.

Show us the exam, we show you the success story

Pragati Bhatnagar is a 2019 alumnus of Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies, who joined our Judiciary course in August 2021. In October, she quit her job to study full time.

Meanwhile, the IBPS SO exam was announced for December 2021, so she decided to give it a shot. She already knew about three important banking laws from her practice, and had studied several major subjects which overlapped with the judiciary syllabus

Which means Pragati cleared the IBPS SO exam by more or less focusing on the Judiciary syllabus. Much of what she was tested on in the IBPS Mains paper and Interview was from what she had already learned from the Judiciary course. Here is her message informing us of her success:

I would like you to join the ranks of the people I have talked about so far.

Do you have what it takes to chase your dreams of joining the judiciary? Do you want to change lives as our students are doing? Do you want to be part of one of India’s most prestigious establishments?
